Craneford Wines is located in Truro, on the northern hills of the beautiful Barossa Valley, South Australia. The winery was expanded in 2004, a bottling line was added guaranteeing all wine is made from start to finish on site, providing total control over the quality of the wine at all times. Fruit sourced from their own various growers is treated as individual fruit parcels during the winemaking process. This ensures each wine is crafted to epitomize the best fruit of the vintage whilst continuing to express the unique characters of the each vineyard. Final blends are made with components decided only after each vineyards wine has been individually tasted and analysed to ensure it meets their highest expectations. All the wines produced show classic Barossa flavours, are complex and well balanced. Craneford’s aim is to continually produce the highest quality wine from the best Barossa fruit available. Red Door Cabernet Merlot 2004/2008 (RV) The Red Door is a lovely blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The nose encompasses bright cherry and blackcurrant berry fruit flavours whilst the palate is mouth-filling and supple with delicate traces of spice and nutmeg.
Unwooded Chardonnay 2007 (RV) Subtle straw yellow with a green hue. Melon with citrus dominating on the nose. On the palate, vibrant citrus flavours with hints of peaches and melon. Well balanced.
Allyson Parsons Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2007/2008 (RV) A vibrant un-oaked Semillon Sauvignon Blanc with varietal characters of passion fruit and citrus dominating both the nose and palate. A well rounded and lingering finish creates a lovely summer wine.
Allyson Parsons Shiraz 2005 (RV) A mouthfilling full flavoured wine that has good length with integrated tannins. Well balanced with a spicy nose and lingering chocolate overtones. A wonderful example of a Barossa Shiraz - 90 points: Robert Parker
Allyson Parsons Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 (RV) The wine has an herbaceous yet earthy nose and aromas of mint & black fruit which combine with structured tannins, to create a complex fruit driven wine. - 84 points: Robert Parker
Grenache 2005 (RV) Magenta in color. Raspberry, cherry and spice on the nose. A full flavoured wine that has style and finesse. Mouthfilling, long and lingering finish. - 90 points: Wine Spectator - 90 points: Robert Parker
Viognier 2007 (RV) A well balanced wine with sweetness and acid. An outstanding array of sweet apricot blossom and violets fill the nose, while the palate exhibits characters of citrus and apricot which linger on.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2005/2006 (RV) A complex wine with great length. Black red with a purple hue. Spice with black berry characters and a hint of tobacco leaf. Rich black fruit with subtle fine grained tannins. - 93 points: Robert Parker
Merlot 2005/2006 (RV) A mouthfilling wine of style and elegance. Soft, fine grain tannins integrate with new French oak characters creating a palate full of red berry and plum characters and an earthy, spicy nose. Rich, fruit driven palate. - 89 points: Wine Spectator
