Ch
Tour De Segur 2002 (1500ml) AOC St.
Emilion
Bright red in color
with fruity and spicy flavors. The wine is full and
velverty on the palate, coupled with mellow tannins.
Full and agreeable final.
This is a big, corpulent,
powerful wine that may be short on charm and finesse,
but compensates with its full-bodied, macho display
of fruit, glycerin, and tannin. The saturated ruby/purple
color is accompanied by a chewy, thick, highly extracted,
moderately tannic Margaux.

This is one of the
finest Dauzacs to date. The 1999's opaque purple color
is followed by aromas and flavors of black currant
and blueberry fruit, Asian spices, minerals, smoke,
and toasty new oak. It is powerful and extracted,
with low acidity.

wine with notes of dried herbs, damp earth, incense
and new saddle leather, this is a heady, attractive,
fruit-driven wine with moderate structure behind its
initial attack.

Premier Grand Cru Classe, AOC St.
Emilion
An up and coming
estate in the St.-Emilion firmament thanks to a new
owner, the 2001 Clos Fourtet appears to be even better
than the 2000. Aromas of blackberries, camphor, and
sweet toasty oak emerge from this medium to full-bodied,
heady, seductive, rich, luscious St.-Emilion. Loaded
with fruit and extract, there is not a hard edge to
be found in this beautifully textured, plump, sexy
offering.

Clos du Marquis 2000
A terrific Clos du
Marquis, and clearly of second or third-growth quality,
this dark purple-colored wine reveals structure, brooding
backwardness, and rich, expansive character. The wine
exhibits plenty of sweet kirsch black currant fruit
intermixed with high quality, subtle new oak, and
steely, mineral characteristics. Rich and medium to
full-bodied, with ripe tannin, this is a dazzling
Clos du Marquis.
