A beautiful, pure

Ch
Tour De Segur 2002 (1500ml) AOC St.
Emilion
Bright red in color
with fruity and spicy flavors. The wine is full and
velverty on the palate, coupled with mellow tannins.
Full and agreeable final.
This is a big, corpulent,
powerful wine that may be short on charm and finesse,
but compensates with its full-bodied, macho display
of fruit, glycerin, and tannin. The saturated ruby/purple
color is accompanied by a chewy, thick, highly extracted,
moderately tannic Margaux.
Clos
Fourtet 2004
Premier Grand Cru Classe, AOC St.
Emilion
Subtle aromas of
forest fruit, meat and flowers follow through to a
full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a delicate
berry, chocolate and earth aftertaste. Well done for
the vintage.

Cellar Selection
La Prade 2004
Cotes de Franc It
is soft, opulent, and fleshy. Sweet blackberry and
cassis, licorice, smoke and underbrush characteristics
along with good purity, excellent texture, and soft
acidity as well as tannin suggest it should be consumed
over the next 7-8 years.

La Sirene de Giscours
2004
2nd wine of Chateau Giscours, Margaux
Taste Note not
available
Reserve
De La Comtesse 2004
There has been a noticeable
increase in the quality of Pichon Lalande’s
second wine. A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36%
Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc, the accessible, impressively-endowed
2004 Reserve de la Comtesse possesses a deep ruby/purple
color as well as notes of creme de cassis, charcoal,
and spice box. It should drink well upon release,
and evolve for a decade.

Langoa Barton 2001
3rd Classified Growth, AOC Saint Julien
This property belongs
to the same owner as Leoville barton and the wine
of Langoa is said to be the brother of Leoville Barton.
Tobacco, spice box, cedar, and black currants offer
a perfumed, complex introduction to this structured,
beefy, muscular St.-Julien. As usual, a battle between
the fruit and structure is being waged in this 2001,
which appears to be a bit broader and more charming
than most young Langoa Bartons. Anticipated maturity:
2008-2016.
A sleeper of the vintage,
the successful 2004 has put on considerable weight
over the last year. Its dense purple color is accompanied
by aromas of flowers, black cherries, cassis, licorice,
and toasty oak. Medium-bodied with good underlying
acidity, moderately high, sweet tannin, and a long,
authoritative finish.

Moulin
St George 2003
Grand Cru, AOC St. Emilion
Another estate owned
by perfectionist Alain Vauthier (the proprietor of
Ausone), this is the poor person’s value pick
from this proprietor. One of the finest vintages ever
made by Alain Vauthier is the 2003 Moulin St.-Georges,
a sleeper of the vintage. Deep purple to the rim with
an exquisite nose of blueberries, white flowers, crushed
rocks, and mulberry, the wine is rich, textured, powerful,
and much more structured and full-bodied than it usually
is in other vintages.

Ch.Pichon
Lalande 1999
A blend of 47% Merlot,
37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 7%
Petit Verdot, the 1999 Pichon-Lalande is putting on
weight as it evolves in cask. The color is a deep
ruby with purple nuances. Medium to full-bodied, with
a sexy nose of caramel, tobacco, sweet black currants,
and spice, it is a silky-textured, seductive effort
that may merit an outstanding rating, if it develops
more length and mid-palate. It has evolved well over
the last year, and is now displaying more of Pichon-Lalande's
class and nobility.
