The Medhyk Shiraz 2008

The first release of The Medhyk Shiraz in 2011 commemorates 125 years of winemaking by the Angove family, established by Dr WT Angove in 1886. Three distinguished sites in McLaren Vale were selected for this wine with vines of 40 to over 60 years old. This wine shows the purity and texture only found in Old Vine Shiraz and is the benchmark from which the Angove Family honours their past and ventures into the future.

100% Shiraz. Deep crimson purple. Aromas of rich plum, blackberry and white pepper followed by savoury oak. The palate follows seamlessly from the initial aromas and builds with perfectly intertwined flavours of spice, dark chocolate of great poise and length. The velvety, smooth tannins linger in the mouth.
